4,361 Cases Amicably Resolved In Raigad National Lok Adalat, ₹19.17 Crore Recovered | Representational Image

Navi Mumbai: A total of 4,361 cases were amicably resolved in the National Lok Adalat held on May 10, 2025, in Raigad district, with a settlement amount of Rs 19.17 crore recovered, according to Judge Amol Shinde, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority.

The nationwide Lok Adalat initiative was organized under the directives of the National Legal Services Authority, Supreme Court, Delhi. In Raigad, 31,962 cases were scheduled for consideration, comprising 19,222 pre-litigation and 12,740 pending matters. Of these, 1,948 pre-litigation and 2,413 pending cases reached settlements.

The event was held under the guidance of the In-Charge Principal District and Sessions Judge Dr. Srushti Nilkanth. A total of 27 Lok Adalat benches were set up across the district to facilitate the proceedings. Modern technology enabled parties to participate and resolve their cases via video calls, avoiding the need for physical court appearances.

Seventeen motor accident compensation cases were settled, resulting in compensation worth Rs 1.58 crore granted to the affected parties.

In a significant outcome, five marital disputes were also resolved, helping couples from Roha (1), Mahad (2), and Panvel (2) to reconcile and restart their married lives.

The District Legal Services Authority acknowledged the cooperation of judicial officers, lawyers, Raigad Zilla Parishad, police personnel, and all parties involved. Chairperson Dr. Srushti Nilkanth and Secretary Amol Shinde expressed gratitude for the collective efforts and satisfaction over the event's success.
