Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and media personality Lauren Sánchez officially tied the knot on June 27, 2025, in an extravagant celebration that transformed Venice, Italy, into a scene straight out of a fairytale. The couple’s nuptials, have become one of the most lavish weddings in recent memory.

A wedding dress that was 'A Piece of Poetry'

For her big day, Lauren Sánchez wore a breathtaking Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda wedding gown, a creation that took artisans more than 900 hours to complete, according to Harper’s Bazaar. The sophisticated dress showcased long sleeves and a corseted waist that beautifully highlighted Lauren’s silhouette. A turtleneck neckline brought an air of classic refinement to the ensemble, while the gown’s mermaid-style skirt flowed gracefully to the floor. This Dolce & Gabbana gown was inspired by Sophia Loren's Wedding dress in 1958 film, 'Houseboat'.

Adding to the gown’s allure were 180 silk chiffon-covered buttons, meticulously hand-finished and running along the gown’s sweeping train. Reflecting on the couture masterpiece, Lauren shared behind-the-scenes photos with the caption, “Not just a gown, a piece of poetry. Thank you Dolce and Gabbana for the magic you made.”

The wedding was a magnet for A-list celebrities, with famous faces including Bill Gates, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Karlie Kloss, Ivanka Trump, and Orlando Bloom in attendance. The ceremony was originally planned for June 28 at the historic Scuola Grande della Misericordia, but due to heightened security concerns and protests criticizing the opulence of the event, the couple opted for a last-minute venue change.

The final location was the stunning San Giorgio Maggiore island, set against the backdrop of Venice’s iconic St. Mark’s Square. The festivities reportedly spanned three days and effectively took over the entire island.

The wedding ceremony began with a special performance of “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” sung by Matteo Bocelli, whose rendition of the Elvis Presley classic drew cheers from the guests. Ahead of the ceremony, Lauren and Jeff were spotted departing separately from the Aman Hotel-Lauren in a chic, retro-inspired white suit and silk headscarf, and Jeff in a classic black tuxedo paired with aviator sunglasses.
