Much Much Media has unveiled its very first chat show, Parenting Aaj Kal, in an intimate launch event held in Mumbai on Saturday evening. Hosted by renowned developmental pediatrician Dr. Vibha Krishnamurthy, the series offers an empathetic space where parents, youth, and caregivers can explore the highs and lows of Indian family life.

Why parenting Aaj Kal Matters?

In a world flooded with viral parenting reels, WhatsApp forwards, and an avalanche of generic advice, Indian parents often feel lost, judged, or overwhelmed. Many families still struggle to access parenting content that resonates with their culture and language. Parenting Aaj Kal bridges this crucial gap with evidence-based discussions presented entirely in Hindi, ensuring no parent feels excluded.

The show is designed to make difficult conversations-like discussing mental health, divorce, neurodivergence, gender expectations, and consent-more approachable and relatable. Each episode pairs everyday families with leading experts, blending lived experiences with professional insights to create a nuanced, judgment-free dialogue.

Meet Dr. Vibha Krishnamurthy

With over 30 years of experience as a developmental pediatrician, Dr. Vibha Krishnamurthy brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to the show. Speaking about her vision, she shared, “I want Parenting Aaj Kal to make hard conversations simpler. I want Indian families to feel heard and supported, in a language they truly understand.”

Her approach is both warm and scientifically grounded, helping viewers navigate modern parenting without shame or fear.

The launch event featured a compelling panel discussion moderated by Aditi Gangrade, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Much Much media.

Ira Khan, mental health advocate and founder of Agatsu Foundation, highlighted how young people are often 'overwhelmed and lonely,' grappling with mental health challenges in silence. She mentioned how her mother was the one who recognised her declining interest in life. "I slept straight for 18+ hours or didn't sleep at all. My mother noticed these signs and that's when I came out to my parents," Ira said.

"I am grateful to my parents for being there to listen to me and give me the assurance that they'll always be supportive," she added.

Veteran psychiatrist Dr. Pervin Dadachanji observed that more Indian parents today are creating open channels of communication, which she believes is “enabling collaborative parenting.”

Owen Roncon, father of two and co-creator of the Mahindra Blues Festival, shared how fatherhood transformed his priorities, stating, “The second I saw my child being born, I changed. My greatest achievement is just being there for them.”

Public figures like Cyrus Broacha and Ira Khan will also appear in upcoming episodes, candidly discussing topics such as masculinity, depression, and generational expectations.

Breaking the silence around parenting

Much Much Media’s CEO Aalap Deboor underscored the show’s purpose. “Our vision with Parenting Aaj Kal is to spark dinner table conversations in Indian homes about issues we usually avoid-mental health, separation, disability, consent,” he said.

By blending humor, vulnerability, and expert guidance, the series creates an accessible roadmap for navigating family life.
