Woman Among Three Held For Theft; Cash, Bike Worth ₹6.75L Recovered In Indore | Representative Image
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Three men including a woman were arrested in connection with the theft at a restaurant owner’s house at Bhanwarkuan area on Friday.
The theft case was reported on June 25 at the house of restaurant owner Lalit Shivani in Vidya Nagar area, under the jurisdiction of Bhanwarkuan police station. Additional DCP (zone-4) Anand Yadav and ACP (Juni Indore) Vijay Chaudhary formed a team led by Bhanwarkuan police station in-charge Rajkumar Yadav to arrest the accused.
The police team examined CCTV footage at the spot and other places and identified suspects based on their appearances. The accused were identified as Mahendra Kewat, a resident of Udaipur, currently living in Durga Nagar, Palda in the city, Raghav Kewat, a resident of Dungarpur, Rajasthan, also living in Durga Nagar and their female accomplice Lata Keer, a resident of Udaipur.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Lata Keer had reached the complainant’s place on the pretext of seeking domestic work and conducted a recce. Following this, the trio allegedly committed the theft. Raghav Kewat admitted to purchasing a new motorcycle using part of the stolen cash. Further investigation revealed that the stolen money was also spent by the woman on clothes, luxury items and hotel stays.
Police recovered ₹3 lakh in cash from Lata, ₹1.6 lakh from Mahendra Kewat and the new motorcycle bought with the stolen money from Raghav, totalling ₹6.75 lakh in recovered property. All three have been arrested, and further legal action is underway based on ongoing investigations.
