Ujjain Gears Up For New Year Rush At Mahakaleshwar Temple; Traffic Diversions & Parking Plan Issued
Heavy police reinforcements have been deployed all around the Mahakaleshwar complex to ensure the safety of the devotees.

Bhopal/Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar Temple is attracting heavy crowd in the last days of 2024. The footfall is likely to further increase on December 31 and January 1 as lakhs of devotees and some VIPs are expected to visit the revered Jyotirlinga to start the New Year with Baba's blessings.
Heavy police reinforcements have been deployed all around the Mahakaleshwar complex to ensure the safety of the devotees. To ensure smooth movement and avoid jams, the Ujjain police department has released a detailed traffic and parking plan for devotees visiting the Mahakaleshwar Temple on December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025.

Several diversions have been set in place for heavy and commercial vehicles. The diversions are as follows:
1. Vehicles coming from Indore/Nagda/Agar routes will be diverted via the Tapobhumi-Dewas Bypass.
2. Maksi to Indore traffic will be rerouted through Narvar Bypass.
3. Vehicles from Badnagar/Nagda/Agar routes will be diverted near Mohanpura Bridge to Dewas Road.
Moreover, several roads in the city will be off-limits for vehicular traffic. The roads will be closed from 4 AM on 31st December. Prohibited roads are as follows:
1. Harifatak Bridge to Mahakaleshwar Temple.
2. Jantar Mantar to Mahakal Ghati.
3. Shankaracharya Chowk to Narshing Ghat.
Expecting scores of devotees, the police have also issued a parking plan for two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
Indore/Dewas/Maksi Route: Vehicles will be parked at Kartik Mela Ground, Bhil Samaj Parking, and Imperial Hotel.
Badnagar/Nagda Route: Parking will be available near Mohanpura Bridge and Kartik Mela Ground.
Agar Road: Devotees can park their vehicles at Makodia Aam or Kartik Mela Ground.
Indore/Dewas/Maksi Route: Parking will be arranged at Narshing Ghat.
Agar/Nagda Route: Two-wheelers can be parked at Harifatak Bridge and Shankaracharya Chowk near Gopal Mandir.

Moreover, to ensure smooth exits from the above-mentioned parkings, a parking exit plan has been set in motion.
Parking exits are as follows:
1. Kartik Mela and Narshing Ghat Parking: Exit via Bhukhi Mata Marg.
2. Intervision Parking: Exit via Jawaharjipuram to Lalpul.
3. Harifatak Parking: Exit via Ramghat Bridge.
Additional Facilities:
Reserve Parking: Additional parking is available near the Engineering College and Prashanti Square.
Bus Services: The city administration will provide bus services from parking areas to the temple.
