The team had arrived late Saturday night with Shilom James, who is currently in six-day police custody. This is the third visit by the Meghalaya SIT to Indore and surrounding areas. They conducted a search at his Mahalaxmi Nagar residence in Indore that same night, before proceeding to Ratlam the next morning.
Shilom James was arrested at Bhonrasa Toll Gate in Dewas district on June 21, allegedly while trying to flee. He, along with Balbir Ahirwar and Lokendra Singh Tomar, was brought to Shillong on June 26. All three have been booked for destruction of evidence in the ongoing probe into Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder.
SIT calls Vipin for jewellery identification
The SIT team called Raja’s brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, to the Crime Branch police station late on Sunday night to identify Raja’s jewellery recovered from Ratlam. They also asked him to bring pictures from the couple’s marriage to help identify Sonam Raghuvanshi’s belongings.
