Early Tuesday morning, District Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh and District Panchayat CEO Jayati Singh conducted an inspection of the 29.21-km-long Shipra Ghats, traveling by boat from Triveni Ghat to KD Palace despite dense fog.
The route included stops at Gau Ghat, Lalpur Bridge, Bhukhi Mata Ghat, and Ram Ghat, culminating at KD Palace. At each point, the Collector assessed the existing infrastructure and directed improvements to accommodate the anticipated influx of devotees during Simhastha 2028.
According to information, Collector Singh instructed the Water Resources Department and other officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for widening the ghats, constructing paved access routes, and ensuring safety measures. He emphasized making the ghats slip-resistant, widening the steps as per safety standards, and maintaining cleanliness.
The inspection was conducted under the directives of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, who aims to make the event seamless for pilgrims. Singh highlighted the importance of efficient planning, particularly for the 29-km stretch of ghats from Triveni to KD Palace, which will be the focal point for devotees.
