Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Ralamandal Sanctuary witnessed a record number of visitors on a single day, with over 4,500 tourists flocking to the forest area on Sunday. This unprecedented footfall resulted in the sanctuary earning a whopping Rs 1,47,000, the highest ever in a single day.

Located just 16 km from Indore, the Ralamandal Sanctuary has become a popular tourist destination, especially during the monsoon season. The sanctuary’s natural beauty, coupled with its rich wildlife and historical significance, has made it an attractive spot for visitors.

The deer safari was a major draw, with 142 tours conducted on Sunday at a ticket rate of Rs 50. The sanctuary is home to a variety of wildlife, including chital, deer, barasingha, nilgai, peacocks and jackals. Visitors can also enjoy a 10 km-long jungle safari that takes them through the entire sanctuary.

The Shikargah safari was another popular attraction, with 1,600 visitors participating and 201 vehicles making trips on Sunday. The Shikargah museum, which showcases the history of the Holkar dynasty, also saw a significant number of visitors, with 650 tickets issued on Sunday.

According to officials, the sanctuary is expected to host even more visitors in the coming days and efforts are being made to add more facilities and attractions. The fossil centre, which is currently closed, is expected to be opened to tourists soon.
