Indore (Madhya Pradesh): As many as 75368 registered farmers of the district received financial help of ₹15,07,36,000 as direct benefit transfer (DGT) in their bank accounts on Saturday. This is the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred the installment through virtual medium from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. On this occasion, the main programme in the district was organized at the collector’s office. Water resources minister Tulsiram Silawat was the chief guest and MP Shankar Lalwani presided over the event. On this occasion, many officers and farmers were present.
Addressing the farmers, minister Silawat said that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which was started in February 2019, ₹3.75 lakh crore had been transferred directly to the accounts of farmers across the country so far.
The scheme was a historic step towards economic empowerment of farmers. Through the programme organized in Varanasi, an amount of about ₹20,500 crore was distributed to 9.70 crore farmers across the country as the 20th installment.
Minister Silawat informed that under this scheme, a total of 87.93 lakh farmers in Madhya Pradesh received an amount of about ₹7,039 crore. In the same sequence, an amount of ₹15,07,36,000 was directly transferred to the bank accounts of 75,368 registered eligible farmers of the district and 35,854 farmers of Sanwer assembly constituency of the district received an installment of ₹7,17,08000.
Deputy director, agriculture CL Kevada conducted the programme. Assistant director, agriculture, Sandeep Yadav, sub-divisional agriculture officer SR Eske and tehsildar Balveer Singh Rajput were also present.
