MP: 5 Policemen Line-Attached After Seized Liquor Surface In Sendhwa Market

Sendhwa (Madhya Pradesh): As many as 5 policemen from Madhya Pradesh's Sendhwa district were line attached, as reported on Friday.

According to information, the line-attached cops included the rural police station in-charge, who was involved in the illegal sale of seized liquor, along with 4 others.

As per reports, SP Jagdish Dawar, took action against the cops after receiving complaints about illicit distribution of liquor which was confiscated by rural police.

Prima facie police station in-charge Dilip Puri, ASI Ashish Pandit, head constable Tarun Rathod and Vinod Meena, were found guilty of tampering with the evidence.

Liquor was being transported to Gujarat

During investigation, led by SDOP Ajay Waghmare, it was found that the liquor that was seized while being transported from Indore to Gujarat on July 6, is being sold in the local market.

During operation, police intercepted a truck containing 545 boxes of liquor concealed under sacks of corn and arrested Lakhan Poria and Amar Bhai.

However, according to some sources, some of the seized liquor had reappeared in the market that raised questions on transparency of police action.

SDOP Waghmare said that a prompt action was taken to restore public trust. ASP Dheeraj Babbar is overseeing further investigation in the matter.
