10 Held For Attack On Forest & Police Officials
Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh): Piplod Police arrested ten individuals involved in a violent attack against forest staff and police personnel on December 27 last year.
Earlier, over 10 forest and police department officials were injured when locals pelted stones at them when they were uprooting standing crops on encroached forest land. Forest department officials were destroying crops spread over approximately 90-100 hectares of encroached forest land using bulldozers.
SP Manoj Kumar Rai directed immediate action and a case was registered against 40 accused for the said attack. Acting on a tip-off, police arrested ten accused identified as Lalu Dudwe, Ram Singh, Madan, Bhuwan Singh and others of Ama Khajuri Bhilaikheda village.
They were apprehended in Ama Khajuri forest on Monday. Following their arrest, the accused were presented before Khandwa Court and subsequently remanded to jail. A manhunt was launched to nab the accused who are currently at large.
