Man Ends Life After Employer Opens Fraudulent Firm In His Name, Leaves Lakhs In GST Dues; Fired Him After Earning Crores |
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 50-year-old man, Jitendra Malviya, allegedly died by suicide after his employer fraudulently opened a firm in his name and evaded paying GST dues amounting to lakhs of rupees. The incident occurred under the Aerodrome police station limits.
Jitendra, a resident of Somani Nagar, was employed by Sanjay Barjatya of Kalani Nagar. According to his family, Barjatya deceitfully opened a firm in Jitendra's name and registered the GST account. He then secured government contracts through the firm, reportedly earning crores of rupees.
However, the dues on the GST account remained unpaid, and recovery notices began arriving on Jitendra’s phone. Shocked and oerwhelmed by the discovery, he fell into a state of acute stress. Matters worsened when Barjatya fired him from the job, leaving him burdened with a debt of nearly Rs 20 lakh.
Distressed and unable to cope, Jitendra consumed a poisonous substance on Tuesday. He was admitted to a hospital in critical condition and succumbed after battling for four days.
The police are investigating the matter based on the family's allegations.
