Maiden Spiritual Wellness Summit In Ujjain Draws Investment Of ₹2000 Crore

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Overwhelmed by enthusiastic response from investors at Madhya Pradesh’s maiden ‘Spiritual Wellness Summit’ held in Ujjain on Thursday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced plans to develop the Mahakal City into a premier wellness hub of the country, featuring world-class religious, tourism, and medical facilities.

Addressing the media at a private hotel, the CM said that around 800 reputed investors from across India participated in the summit. Many expressed strong interest thus resulting in MoUs worth approximately ₹2,000 crore being signed.

Among the key commitments, Dr. Vinod Bhandari, owner of SAIMS, Indore, pledged an investment of ₹984 crore to establish an international-level cancer-cum-health centre in Ujjain. Suresh Bhadoria of Indore’s Amaltas Group offered ₹400 crore for development projects in Ujjain. Additionally, Swami Chidanand Saraswathi of Rishikesh submitted a letter of intent to develop wellness centres in both Omkareshwar and Ujjain.

CM Yadav emphasized government’s commitment to fulfill these agreements, citing the successful execution of MoUs signed during previous Regional Industrial Conclaves and Global Investors Summits.

“We are ensuring smooth implementation by allocating necessary land and transferring ₹5500 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) as rebates to heavy, medium, small, and cottage industries,” he stated.

He further noted that even promises made by the former Congress government in 2019 have been honoured to build investor confidence in Madhya Pradesh, which is emerging as one of India’s fastest-growing industrial states.

Highlighting Ujjain’s growth trajectory, the CM said that after Indore and Bhopal, Ujjain is now among the fastest developing cities in Madhya Pradesh. The government plans to organise sector-specific summits across the state, tailored to the unique strengths of each district.

For example, the IT Summit was held in Indore, Agriculture Summit in Mandsaur, and Farming Summit in Narsingpur. “These initiatives will continue with the aim of generating widespread employment opportunities,” he added.
