Alot (Madhya Pradesh): Students in Alot staged a protest by blocking the road due to issues related to limited admissions at the newly built Sandipani Vidyalaya on Wednesday.
This school, inaugurated by CM and Union Education Minister, has a total seating capacity of only 160 students for class 9, leaving many students without access to education.
The new building, constructed for Rs 34 crore, has become a source of frustration for students, as there are no other high schools in the Alot area.
District education department official Rahul Mandloi, along with Alot tehsildar Manish Jain and police station in-charge Shankar Singh Chauhan, arrived at the scene to address the situation.
Officer assured students of admission in other schools of Alot
After several hours of protest, the district education officer assured students that they would be allowed admission to other schools in Alot and Vikramgarh. Following this assurance, the students ended the demonstration.
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad criticised the arbitrary operations of many private schools in Alot, which charge high fees and additional amounts for curriculum materials. District education officials promised to take action regarding these concerns.
