Cong urges CM to defer bhoomi pujan
The CM is performing Bhoomi Pujan for an IT Park and various development projects in Ujjain. However, as the period of Malamaas (an inauspicious time according to Vedic and Sanatan traditions) is underway, it is considered improper and inauspicious to undertake any auspicious activities during this time.
Former Bar Association president Pramod Choube, former corporator Himanshu Joshi, former City Congress Committee president Mahesh Soni and vice-president Kailash Bisen questioned the urgency of the ceremony and suggested that it could be performed after a few days.
No activities against religious traditions should take place in a pilgrimage city as such actions affect not only the city but also the entire state and the nation.
