Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The state cabinet is set to convene in Indore on May 20 with a meeting at the historic Rajwada, immersing itself in the city’s rich cultural, culinary, and commercial heritage.
Chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the meeting is seen as significant from both administrative and developmental standpoints. The visit will include a series of cultural programmes and inspections of key city projects.
Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav said preparations are in full swing to welcome the Chief Minister and cabinet ministers, who are expected to arrive on the night of May 19. The visit is part of the ongoing celebrations marking the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, a revered icon in the region.
A major highlight of the itinerary is a proposed visit to the famed Sarafa Bazar - Indore’s vibrant night market known for its delectable street food and thriving bullion trade.
Following the cabinet meeting on May 20, Yadav is scheduled to inspect several high-impact development projects, including the Indore Metro Project, redevelopment of the Hukumchand Mill, and key initiatives in digital governance and cleanliness, areas that have contributed to Indore’s repeated top rankings in national cleanliness surveys.
To ensure smooth coordination, BJP city president Sumit Mishra will chair a planning meeting with public representatives from Indore. The agenda includes a grand welcome for the cabinet and the execution of programmes celebrating the city’s growth and heritage.
“This visit will not only accelerate Indore’s development trajectory but also enhance its cultural and historical prominence,” said Mayor Bhargav, expressing optimism about the high-profile event.
