Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Angered by love marriage, the bride’s family assaulted the bridegroom and forcibly took the girl with them here on Tuesday. Belts, sticks and rods were used in the attack.
After the video of the incident surfaced, the Chimanganj Mandi police registered a case and started investigation. The girl, a resident of a village near Shajapur, and Shubham Malviya, a resident of Giriraj Ratan Colony in Ujjain, knew each other for the last three years.
On April 11, the girl ran away from home and married Shubham in love at Bijasan Mata Temple in Ujjain. After this, the girl’s family filed a missing person report, then it was found that she was living in Shubham’s house after marrying him.
At the same time, the girl refused to go with her parents. Shubham works at MP online. According to Shubham, on Monday evening the girl’s family members reached their house and started shouting.
When his father asked them to sit down and talk calmly, they started beating him. When Shubham’s mother, uncle and aunt tried to intervene, they were also beaten with belts and sticks.
People from the vicinity came out and the entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed nearby. The attackers broke the gate of the house and forcefully took the girl with them.
