Indore's 16-Year-Old Madrasa Student Dies of Electric Shock While Trying To Pick Wet Cloth From High Tension Wire

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 16-year-old boy died due to electric shock at a Madrasa in Khajrana area of ​​Indore on Sunday afternoon.

This incident took place when he went to the third floor of the Madrasa to put his washed clothes out for drying. An he hanged clothes one-by-one on the rope, a garment flew in the air and fell on the branch of a nearby tree.

He tried to pick it using an iron rod. As the conductor rod struck with a high tension line, he got a high-voltage electric shock.

People present nearby heard the sound and called the Madarsa staff. The staff immediately reached upstairs and took the burnt student to MY Hospital in critical condition, where he died during treatment.

Was studying in Madrasa since two years

According to the police, the name of the deceased student is Zahid (16) son of Shakir Khan, resident of Sanwer. He was studying in this Madrasa in Khajrana area for the last two years.

His 10-year-old younger brother also studies in the same Madrasa , while his parents live in Sanwer. His father Shakir Khan works as a labourer to support the family.

Madarsa staff member Iqbal said that all the children in the Madrasa wake up early in the morning. They take rest after having lunch in the afternoon. On Sunday, at around 2 pm, Zahid washed his clothes and went to the third floor to dry them.

Just then, one of his clothes flew and fell on the tree. He brought an iron rod to remove the cloth and moved it towards the cloth stuck in the branch.

Zahid sustained severe burn injuries

On hearing the sound of the explosion, the people around created a ruckus in the madarsa. When the Madrasa staff reached the spot, Zahid was lying on the third floor with severe burn injuries. He was immediately rushed to MY Hospital. Here the doctors started treatment, but his condition was critical and he died shortly.

The police have sent the body for postmortem, today the body will be handed over to the family. Khajrana police is investigating the entire matter.
