Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The city witnessed a vibrant celebration of Baisakhi as local Punjabi women gathered to honour the festival with a blend of tradition and modernity.
Organised by the 'Mehak Punjab Di' group, the event saw around 150 women dressed in colourful Punjabi attire, participating in various cultural activities.
The celebration commenced with a 'Guru Ardaas’ (prayer), setting a spiritual tone for the festivities. Hosts Amanjot Kaur and Bulbul emphasised that the event aimed not only to celebrate Baisakhi but also to pass on cultural values to the younger generation.
The atmosphere was lively, with traditional dances like Bhangra and Gidda performed to the beats of the dhol and modern DJ music that kept everyone dancing.
Attendees engaged in games such as Tambola, with Rani Chandel, Amanjot Kaur and Saraswati Mishra winning prizes. All participants received return gifts, adding to the festive spirit.
