Indore: West Discom Launches Widespread Power Safety Compliance Campaign
To ensure effective implementation, the company has appointed senior officers as supervisory heads for upcoming drills.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a move to enhance electrical safety and reduce workplace accidents, Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company has launched an extensive campaign across Indore region to ensure strict compliance with electrical safety norms.
As part of the campaign, a series of mock drills and safety awareness events are being conducted at various locations, including Bhorasala and Dhamanod in the Indore Rural Circle. The drills aim to reinforce the use of safety equipment and adherence to established safety protocols among field personnel.
Superintending engineer Dr DN Sharma stated that all 38 zonal and distribution centre in-charges have been instructed to rigorously follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and improve consumer services.
Personnel at Bhorasala and Dhamanod, near Aurobindo Hospital, actively participated in the mock drills and took a safety oath, committing to uphold safety standards. Similar events were also held in Naugaon, Dhar, in the presence of superintendent engineer Nirmil Sharma and DK Gathe.
In Khandwa, safety compliance of field operations was reviewed by superintendent engineer Sudhir Acharya, while in Khargone, executive engineer Saurabh Sahu administered the safety oath to the staff.
To ensure effective implementation, the company has appointed senior officers as supervisory heads for upcoming drills. On May 2, superintending engineer Kirti Singh will oversee safety efforts in Barwani, Chintamani Thakar in Ratlam, SS Assi in Ujjain, Narendra Dubey in Dewas, and DK Srivastava in Jhabua. Further inspections are scheduled for May 5 in Indore city by Pawan Jain and on May 6 in Burhanpur by Achal Jain.
Joint secretary Tarun Upadhyay emphasised that the campaign’s core objective is to raise awareness about electrical safety, promote consistent rule adherence and significantly reduce accidents across the region.
