Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a strategic shift, the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) is preparing to empanel contractors for the demolition of the BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit System) corridor after two unsuccessful tender attempts.
Despite extended deadlines, no contractor has come forward to undertake the task, turning the project into a significant challenge for the civic body.
To address this, the IMC is now issuing the tender for the third time. According to Rajendra Rathore, head of the public works committee, this time the process includes a new approach.

Contractors who participate in the tender will submit their offers, based on which the IMC will fix a standard demolition rate. Contractors will then be empanelled and allowed to carry out demolition work at that fixed rate.
Additionally, to boost participation and execution speed, the IMC has revised its original plan.
Instead of handling the BRTS demolition as a single large project, the corridor has been divided into six segments. Demolition across these segments can now begin simultaneously, a move aimed at accelerating the process and encouraging contractor interest. The IMC hopes this new policy and structure will finally kick-start the long-delayed BRTS removal.
