Indore: Masked Thieves Target Vacant Houses; Injure Dog |
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two masked thieves attempted to break into two vacant houses in Ahimsa Villa Colony on Airport Road during the early hours of May 8. However, the attempt was discovered only on Friday (May 16) when the house owners returned from their workplace.
The thieves cut through a metal grill and broke a door, managing to steal a few old furniture items. A dog was also found injured the next morning, raising suspicions that it may have been attacked during the theft.
According to reports, the incidents occurred at the homes of Himanshu Kumar, an IT engineer based in Noida, and Nainesh Jain. Residents reported that the thieves struck around 3 am. Strangely, the streetlights in the area were also non-functional that night, but were repaired the next day.
The thieves first targeted House No. 24, owned by Nainesh Jain. They scaled the boundary wall from the direction of the Gandhi Nagar Metro Station field, broke a glass panel, but failed to get past the inner door.
They then turned to House No. 16, owned by Kumar. After failing to breach the inner grilled gate from the front, they broke the rear grill and partially smashed another door to enter. Since both houses were unoccupied, the burglars could only steal a few old furniture items.
Despite three security guards patrolling at night and one during the day, none reported noticing the intrusion. The incident has left residents on edge and raised questions about security effectiveness in the colony.
