Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man from Sonkatch, who worked to provide transport vehicles for events, was arrested with MD drugs worth lakhs, a crime branch officer said on Saturday.
According to additional DCP (crime) Rajesh Dandotiya, while checking suspects in the city, the crime branch team spotted a suspicious person near Bhandari Bridge who tried to flee.
However, the crime branch team cordoned off the area and managed to arrest him. The accused allegedly revealed his name as Abhimanyu Rajput, resident of Sonkachh in Dewas district.
In the preliminary investigation, the accused confessed to buying MD drugs at cheap rates and selling them to drug addicts at high prices in the city. More than 12 grams of MD drugs were seized from him and a case registered under section 8/22 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway.
Dandotiya further said that Abhimanyu provided vehicles for transportation during events in Sonkatch.
Two caught with ganja
Another team of the city crime branch arrested two persons from MR-4 Road with ganja worth Rs 50000. According to the crime branch officials, the two, Zishan Khan and Rehan Khan, residents of Dhar, were arrested with about 2.47grams of ganja.
The accused allegedly informed the crime branch that they supplied ganja at a higher price after buying it at a cheap price from other cities. A case under section 8/20 of the NDPS act was registered against them.
