Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The city crime branch arrested an IT company owner and his father from Gujarat for reportedly stealing over Rs 64 lakh from a bank account of the district court, police said here on Tuesday.

Surprisingly, the accused was allotted a SIM card which was registered with the bank account and being an IT expert, he managed to steal money from the bank account using internet banking. The accused are being questioned further.

Additional DCP (crime) Rajesh Dandotiya informed the Free Press that a case was registered against unidentified persons for stealing Rs 64.05 lakh from a bank account of the court on the complaint of Punit Tiwari, manager of SBI branch in district court a few days ago.

The money was stolen between March 5 and June 11 this year. During the investigation, the crime branch arrested Sajid Sattar and his son Sahil Rangrez, residents of Valsad in Gujarat on Monday.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the mobile number registered with the bank account was deactivated by the service provider company as it was not used for a long time. Later, the number was allotted to Sajid, who was receiving messages about the bank account number as it was registered with the bank account.

Sajid later informed his son Sahil about the messages. Sahil is an IT expert and owns an IT company, so he somehow managed to withdraw the money from the account on different dates within three months.

Dandotiya further said that Sahil also spent over Rs 10 lakh in Dubai and Singapore. He had deposited Rs 10 lakh to buy an Audi car as well.
