Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a ceremonial event held at the Philatelic Bureau of Indore GPO on Wednesday, India Post unveiled a special commemorative cover to honour Digambar Jain Acharya Shri Vishuddha Sagar Ji Maharaj on the occasion of his Pattacharya Mahotsav.
The cover was unveiled in the esteemed presence of member of Parliament Shankar Lalwani as the chief guest, alongside superintendent of post offices Indore city division Shivansu Kumar and assistant director Praveen Srivastava.
MP Lalwani praised the initiative, calling it a meaningful gesture that aligns with the significance of the Pattacharya title being conferred upon acharya Vishuddha Sagar Ji at Sumati Dham Jainalay.
Over 400 monks are expected to witness this rare spiritual elevation, which coincides with the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.
Highlighting the Acharya’s life of asceticism and his embodiment of the principle Ahimsa Parmo Dharma (Non-violence is the highest virtue),  superintendent Shivansu Kumar stated that the commemorative cover serves to preserve and spread the spiritual contributions of the saint to future generations.
The event was organised in collaboration with the Vardhamanpur Research Institute. Dignitaries including Om Patodi, Anjul Pandya of Samarpan Group Bharat, senior philatelists and members of the Jain community were in attendance.
A welcome address was delivered by superintendent Shivansu Kumar and the vote of thanks was presented by senior postmaster Sunita Singh.
