Indore: Foundation Stone Of ₹32 Cr. Road Joining MR10 To MR12 Laid

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a major push for infrastructure development, the foundation-laying ceremony was held for a new road connecting MR-10 to MR-12 (from Kumedi to Bhangiya village) in Sanwer Assembly's Ward 19.

The project, worth Rs32 crore, is being constructed under the Special Central Assistance scheme. The ceremony was led by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav and water resource minster Tulsiram Silawat and others.

Addressing the gathering, minister Silawat spoke about the government’s strong stance on both national security and development.

He reaffirmed confidence in the central government's ability to respond firmly to terrorism and stated that the BJP stands by its promises, with Indore serving as a shining example.

The new road is part of a larger initiative under which 23 roads listed in Indore’s master plan are being developed simultaneously at a total cost of Rs 450 crore.

According to mayor Bhargav, Rs 100 crore of this investment is focused on road infrastructure within the Sanwer region alone, marking the first time in the city's history that such an extensive development effort is being carried out at once.

A new water tank has been approved for construction in the area. He explained that the city currently receives only half the water supply it requires and outlined a target to scale up the supply to 900 MLD (million litres per day) to meet future demands.

A Rs5 crore provision has also been made in the municipal budget to accelerate development in the 29 villages that were recently incorporated into Indore’s municipal limits.

Marking the occasion with a tone of national solidarity, a two-minute silence was observed in memory of civilians killed in a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
