Indore: City Streets Witness ₹15 Lakh Extortion Bid, 4 Held | Representational Image
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Four men were arrested for abducting a trader in an autorickshaw and thrashing him and demanding ₹15 lakh from him in the Lasudia area on Thursday. Two named and other accused were on the run in connection with the same.
According to the police, Ummed Singh, a resident of Shraddha Shree Colony, had lodged a complaint that he runs a vehicle body repair shop in Dewas Naka.
On June 15, he was at his shop when a person named Rajendra Jat and his accomplices in two auto rickshaws reached there and they badly thrashed and abducted him in an autorickshaw.
The accused took him near Star Square while thrashing and Rajendra allegedly demanded ₹15 lakh and he also threatened him when he refused to give the same. After threatening him, the accused managed to flee from there, leaving the complainant on the spot.

Two people helped him and told him to lodge an FIR with the Lasudia police station staff. The complainant later reached the hospital and after his treatment, he reached the police station on Wednesday and lodged a complaint.
On the basis of the CCTVs, the police managed to arrest the accused named Praveen Jat of Khajrana area, Ajay Irva of Vaibhav Laxmi Nagar, Sonu alias Kaddu of Ramkrishna Bagh and Avdhesh alias Golu of Vijay Nagar area of the city. Two autorickshaws used in the crime were also seized from them.
The police are searching for Rajendra, Pankak Billi and their aides in connection with the same. The arrested accused allegedly informed the police that the accused drives auto rickshaws from Radisson Square where their friend Rajendra Jat, who used to run a transport businessman, and other accused had prepared a plan to abduct the complainant as they were facing financial difficulties.
As per the plan, the accused reached the complainant’s shop in two autos where he was beaten up when he refused to give money to them. Later, they abducted him in an auto rickshaw.
