Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a powerful display of unity and solidarity, the city witnessed a wave of protests and prayer gatherings condemning the brutal terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir, this Tuesday.

From candlelight tributes at Regal Square by Bharatiya Manav Adhikar Parishad, to passionate protests led by Hindu Sangharsh Samiti, and collective prayers by the Sikh community at Gurdwara Tophkhana Sahib, citizens across communities came together to voice their anguish.

At Rajwada, people signed a petition with blood thumb impressions, demanding justice and action. These heartfelt demonstrations reflected the city’s solidarity with the victims and their families, and a strong call for a firm response to terrorism.

Candle tribute for Pahalgam victims

The Bharatiya Manav Adhikar Parishad organised a candlelight tribute at Regal Square in the memory of tourists killed in the Pahalgam terror attack.

The event, held under the guidance of state president Saleem Sheikh and led by active members Poonam Khandelwal and Brijesh Paroche, echoed with powerful slogans such as ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ and ‘No speech, no condemnation — no terrorist should remain alive’.

Candles were lit in solemn remembrance. Key members, including Sardar Mohan Singh, Rajendra Nahar, Gopal Thanwar, and hundreds of citizens participated, expressing deep sorrow and solidarity with the victims’ families.

Protest at Regal Square

A protest was staged at Regal Square. People gathered in large numbers, raising slogans such as ‘Pakistan Murdabad’, ‘Yachna Nahin Ab Ran Hoga’, ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, and ‘Vande Mataram’.

Carrying placards, participants voiced their anger and patriotism. Organised under the banner of Hindu Sangharsh Samiti, the event concluded with gratitude expressed by Harsh Sharma and Manoj Panwar who led the protest.

Gathering at Gurdwara Topkhana Sahib

The Sikh community gathered at Gurdwara Topkhana Sahib under the banner ofMeeri Peeri Shri Guru Singh Sabha. Senior community members and speakers strongly condemned the attack, expressing unwavering support for the Indian Army and the Central Government.

They emphasised that the time had come to give a fitting reply to the terrorism-exporting neighbouring nation. Gurdwaras in J&K were providing shelter and langar to stranded people.

Prayers were held for the victims and injured. A letter reflecting the community’s sentiments will be sent to the President and Prime Minister.

RSS leaders pay tributes to Sushil

RSS leaders on Thursday paid tributes to Sushil Nathaniel, who was killed in the Pahalgam terror attack. Nathaniel was buried in Juni Indore cemetery after prayers at Saint Joseph’s Church, Nandanagar. From Malwa Province Sah Karyavah Shrinath Gupta and Indore district Karyavah Ritnesh Raghuvanshi attended the funeral. They paid tributes to him and expressed condolences to his family.
