Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Residents of the Subhash Marg and Chhawni areas have expressed gratitude towards mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav and cabinet minister Kailash Vijayvargiya for taking a balanced decision regarding the ongoing road widening projects.
Amid public concerns over the proposed demolition of multiple structures, the administration revised its plan, offering significant relief to the affected citizens.
The initial proposal required widening the Chhawni road to 80 feet and Subhash Marg to 100 feet, which would have impacted numerous residential and commercial buildings.
After continuous dialogue with residents, mayor Bhargav consulted minister Vijayvargiya and local MLA Golu Shukla. Based on these discussions, the decision was made to reduce the widening in the first phase Chhawni road will now be expanded to 60 feet and Subhash Marg to 80 feet.
This adjustment is aimed at addressing public concerns while allowing essential infrastructure work to proceed without delay.

The mayor further assured that those whose properties are affected will be compensated in accordance with government policies. This includes Transferable Development Rights (TDR), Floor Area Ratio (FAR) benefits, and any other applicable support or compensation as per regulations.
