Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 12-year-old boy drowned in a pond under Kanadia police station limits on Tuesday. He had left home saying he was going out to play, but instead went bathing with his friends.
Unaware of the depth of the water, Ashwin had gone into the deep water and drowned. By the time he was pulled out, he was dead.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Ashwin, son of Suresh, a resident of Ramabai Nagar. His family members said that Ashwin was a student of Class 5. On Tuesday afternoon, he went with his friends to bathe in a pond in the Amba Mulia area.
While bathing, Ashwin accidentally went into deeper water. His friends cried for help, following which locals rushed to the spot and managed to bring him out of the pond. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Ashwin was the only son of his parents and had two elder sisters. His father works as an auto-rickshaw driver. The police began a probe to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and conducted his post-mortem.
