Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 60-year-old man was killed after he received a bullet outside a farmhouse on Khandwa Road under Tejaji Nagar police station jurisdiction on Saturday evening. It is said that he and his wife were fetching water there when he received a bullet near his waist.
DCP (zone-1) Vinod Kumar Meena informed Free Press that the incident took place outside the farmhouse of Vivek Singhal in Umrikheda village around 6.30 pm. Sixty-year-old Madanlal Yadav and his wife were fetching water from a tap outside the farmhouse when a gun went off somewhere and Madanlal received the bullet near his waist.

He fell on the road and when his wife cried for help, he was rushed to the hospital where he died during treatment. The licensed firearm of Singhal had gone off while it was being cleaned. However, it was not clear who was cleaning the firearm when it went off. The investigation is on into the case and the CCTVs of the area are being examined. Also, the statement of his wife, who was on the spot, and his son are being recorded to know the exact circumstances under which the incident happened.
It is said that there were three to four bullets fired at the spot. However, the police said that the farmhouse has been sealed and investigation is on. The bullet shells are being searched by the police.
