Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Three people including a minor boy were arrested for robbing a youth of cash and mobile phone in the Khajrana area on Thursday.
The accused had robbed a person on the pretext of buying a cake for him. The accused are being questioned for other such crimes.
Additional DCP (zone-2) Amrendra Singh said that Ashutosh Goswami, a resident of Bhopal had come to the city for some work. He was walking to Radisson Square from Vijay Nagar Square when three youths asked for water on Wednesday morning.
He gave the water bottle to them and asked the address of a bakery to buy a cake. The accused informed the complainant that they can buy a cake for him and took him to a ground near the Robot Square and robbed a mobile phone and a wallet containing Rs 7,000 from him. The accused threatened him and fled the scene.
Ashutosh with the help of the locals informed the police about the incident. A case was registered by the police against unidentified youths. During the CCTVs examination, the police found the clue about them and managed to arrest three youths including a minor.
The accused have been identified as Gillu Patel and Laddu Chouhan, residents of the Khajrana area of the city. Cash, ATM card and the mobile phone of the complainant were also recovered from their possession.
The accused allegedly informed the police that they committed the robbery to fulfil their wishes. Police claimed that the accused were arrested within a few hours of the incident.
