Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): A honeytrap gang was busted on Saturday following the arrest of four individuals, including a woman. The gang allegedly lured a youth into a love trap, recorded a obscene video of him and extorted Rs 1.58 lakh.
According to Badnawar police station Amit Singh Kushwaha, a video surfaced on social media on May 29, showing a person being assaulted. The investigation revealed that the victim was from area under the Kanwan police station.
The victim reported that a woman had been contacting him for 15 days, engaging in intimate conversations and insisting on meeting. On May 17, the woman took the victim to a house in the Nichlawas locality of Badnawar, where other gang members were waiting.
They assaulted him and recorded a nude video. The gang then extorted Rs 1.58 lakh from the victim, threatening to make the video public. Despite the payment, they proceeded to share the video online.
Using audio clues from the video and details from the location, the police were able to apprehend the suspects within 24 hours.
