Food Safety Officer Recruitment-2025: MPPSC Issues Fresh Notification; Posts Reduced To 67

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has released a fresh notification for the Food Safety Officer Recruitment Exam 2025, announcing significant changes in the recruitment process, including a reduction in the number of vacancies and revised educational qualifications.

According to the new notification, only 67 posts will be filled in this recruitment cycle, a sharp decline from the 120 posts advertised in the previous notification issued in December 2024. The earlier recruitment drive was cancelled in March 2025 following court orders after objections were raised regarding the recruitment process and qualifications.

MPPSC will now accept online applications from July 11 to August 10, 2025. While the exam date is yet to be announced, the Commission officials have confirmed that the exam will be conducted on OMR sheets and held across four major cities of the state — Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur and Gwalior.

In the revised recruitment plan, the 67 posts have been distributed category-wise viz 14 for Unreserved, 8 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 17 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 23 for OBC and 5 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).

The educational qualifications have also been updated. Candidates must now hold graduate and postgraduate degrees — with a PhD included under preferred qualifications — in disciplines such as Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, Agricultural Science and other related fields from a recognized university.

MPPSC PRO Ravindra Panchbhai stated that the commission decided to reissue the recruitment process on June 23, taking into account the court’s directives and concerns raised earlier. He added that the exact date of the exam will be announced shortly.
