Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): CM Mohan Yadav addressed the State-level Nishadraj Sammelan and training programme held at the Kalidas Sanskrit Academy on Saturday. He announced the construction of a state-of-the-art Aqua Park in Bhopal with an investment of Rs 40 crore and modern hatcheries for fish seed production at a cost of Rs 217 crore.
The CM also visited an exhibition showcasing various fish species and innovative models related to fisheries. He digitally laid the foundation for 453 Smart Fish Parlours worth Rs 22.65 crore and Rs 92 crore cage farming project at the Indira Sagar Dam. He also distributed approval letters and 100 units of motorcycles equipped with ice boxes to fishermen.
During his address, the CM highlighted the courageous contribution of the fishing community, drawing parallels with King Nishadraj—an ardent devotee and companion of Lord Ram. He emphasized the significance of fish farming as a growing industry and assured that it would receive the same support and facilities as other sectors.
Fisheries minister Narayan Singh Panwar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to uplifting the fishing community, noting the distribution of fishermen credit cards and targeted goals for 2028. MP Fisheries Welfare Board chairman Sitaram Batham and district minister in-charge Gautam Tetwal were also present.
