Academic Calendar For NCTE Courses Out, Classes Till Nov 3 | NCTE
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): While the process for filling seats in NCTE recognized courses is still underway, Department of Higher Education (DHE) has released academic calendar stating that teacher education programmes classes for first and third semester will start from July 1 and continue till November 3.
Besides, the exams will be held for first and third semester from November 18 and results will come out by December 25.
The academic calendar for session 2025-26 contains dates for 100 days of academic activities, practical exams, preparation leave, semester exams, semester break and results deadline for all four semesters.
Educational institutions offering BEd, MEd, BPEd, MPEd and other teacher training programmes have been directed to comply strictly with the academic calendar and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) guidelines.
As per the latest directive, colleges must organize co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in the month of August for odd semesters, and in February for even semesters each academic year.
Institutions are also required to ensure that a minimum of 200 academic days are conducted annually in alignment with the NCTE Regulations, 2014. In case of any loss of academic days due to unavoidable circumstances, the teaching periods must be extended to compensate for the shortfall. This is applicable across all semesters, including the crucial 3rd and 4th semesters.
Furthermore, special emphasis has been placed on the part-time BEd (three-year) course, which must incorporate at least 120 days of direct teaching each year.
