New Delhi, January 29: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday, January 29 replied to Election of Commission of India (ECI) over allegations against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led party in Haryana of poisoning Yamuna. Election Commission on Tuesday, January 28 asked Arvind Kejriwal to provide evidence over his claims that BJP is poisoning Yamuna River in Haryana.
In his reply to the Election Commission, Arvind Kejriwal said that his Yamuna water remark was in context of public health crisis due to drinking water quality in Delhi.
He further said, "Statements on Yamuna water were made to highlight severe toxicity, contamination of raw water received from Haryana."
He also said, "Raw water received from Haryana recently highly contaminated and extremely poisonous for human health. Contamination in raw water from Haryana so extreme that treatment plants in Delhi unable to process it within safe limits."
Arvind Kejriwal's clarification over his remarks came after Sonipat court summoned AAP chief on February 17 over his "poison in Yamuna" remark.
Arvind Kejriwal accused BJP of doing dirty politics and also alleged that they are trying to kill the people of Delhi. He said, "The country has never seen such dirty politics till date. If the people of Delhi are not voting for BJP, will you kill the people of Delhi by giving them water mixed with poison? The BJP government there is mixing poison in the water coming from Haryana. I want to tell the people of Delhi that as long as Kejriwal is there, I will not let any harm come to the people of Delhi. BJP people, don't stoop so low."
Election Commission issued a notice and demanded evidence from Arvind Kejriwal over his claims after which Kejriwal replied to EC today.
