Kolkata: Will Trinamool Congress (TMC) pull out the name of cricketer-turned-politician Yusuf Pathan’s name from India’s All Party delegation?

Before leaving for North Bengal, West Bengal Chief Minister on Monday said that though she will side with the decision and views of the central government but cannot accept that the party was not informed who will become the delegation from TMC.

“It is a system now that the mother party should be informed about any development and also that the party will decide whom it will send as a part of the delegation. It is not that we are not supporting the decision or opting out. We are in favour of the country. In the external affairs issue, we have always supported the policy of the Centre,” said Mamata.

Notably, the All-Party delegation, which consists of seven groups led by one MP from every political party, has been asked to carry forward to the world India’s message of zero tolerance against terrorism later this month.

The delegation comprising Shrikant Eknath Shinde from Shiv Sena, Sashi Tharoor from Congress, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kanimozhi Karunanidhi of DMK are scheduled to visit 30 countries including Korea, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia as part of India’s global push against terrorism.
