Kolkata: Breaking the silence before leaving for North Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that more than sacked teachers, ‘outsiders’ are taking part in the protest which is being held by jobless teachers.
“I am not against any protest but detaining someone forcibly is not good. I am empathetic towards the sacked teachers. The sacked teachers should keep faith in the state government. Every movement should have a boundary line,” said Mamata.
The West Bengal Chief Minister also asked the jobless teachers to fight the battle ‘legally’.
“Instead of sitting on the road they should move the court. More than the teachers there are outsiders in the protests. Those who are now igniting the sacked teachers have moved the court against cancellation of their jobs. We have filed a review petition. We will have to accept whatever the court decides,” further added Mamata.
Notably, the sacked teachers are protesting outside Bikash Bhawan for over a week now demanding their jobs back.

Countering the claims of the Chief Minister, a protesting teacher Chinmoy Mondal said that the Chief Minister should come and verify about those who are protesting.
“How can we keep hope on the state government when our panel got cancelled twice in Calcutta High Court and then in the Supreme Court. The teachers are only protesting and their family members are here. Not the movement but corruption should also have a boundary line,” mentioned Mondal.
