Kolkata: Amid ongoing criticism within the party for visiting Jagannath temple at Digha, former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and former state president Dilip Ghosh without naming anyone questions about the character of BJP Bishnupur MP Saumitra Khan.
“His wife only said that he is a bit dumb. I fight against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee boldly. Ever since I started fighting against Mamata Banerjee all these leaders used to stand outside the house of Mamata Banerjee. Such leaders who came from another party should not teach me what BJP is,” said Ghosh.
Countering claims of Ghosh, BJP Bishnupur MP Saumitra Khan said that Ghosh is a ‘closed chapter’ in politics.
Another former BJP MP Arjun Singh also questioned the credibility of Dilip Ghosh.
“Many a times I have told the party leaders in Delhi that the one they trust is in touch with Mamata Banerjee. When several party workers were killed and were displaced after the 2021 Assembly elections, no harm was done to Ghosh,” added Singh.

BJP MLA Ashok Dinda also questioned why Dilip Ghosh didn’t visit Murshidabad when the vandalised temples were being rebuilt and puja was done.
“When violence took place in Murshidabad, Dilip Ghosh got married. Anyone has the right to get married but instead of Jagannath temple he should have gone to Murshidabad,” added the footballer-turned-politician.
