Marital relations of new IAS officers are helping Rajasthan receive officers from other states. In the last one and a half years, the state has gained eight IAS officers through inter-cadre deputation, seven of whom have come to Rajasthan due to marriage.

The sanctioned cadre strength of IAS officers in Rajasthan is 332, but currently, the state has only 278 serving IAS officers. Out of these, 30 are on central deputation. As a result, more than 20 officers are overburdened with additional charges from other departments. In such a scenario, the inter-cadre deputation of IAS officers is helping the state partially address the shortage.

According to rules, inter-cadre deputation refers to the temporary assignment of an All India Services officer to a different cadre—either within the Central Government, another state government, or a specified organization. This policy allows officers to gain experience in diverse environments or deal with personal circumstances. While the process is subject to specific conditions and is generally difficult to obtain, marriage to another All India Services officer is one of the accepted grounds for approval.

Here is the list of IAS officers who have joined the Rajasthan cadre through inter-cadre deputation:

AS Chhaya Singh from Madhya Pradesh came to Rajasthan due to her marriage to Rajasthan cadre IAS Mohit Kasnia.

Ashish Kumar Mishra from Uttarakhand joined Rajasthan after marrying Rajasthan cadre IAS Anshu Priya.

Jaydev CS from Uttar Pradesh came to Rajasthan on inter-cadre deputation following his marriage to Rajasthan cadre IAS Pratibha Verma.

Rashmi Rani from Tamil Nadu got deputation to Rajasthan after marrying Rajasthan cadre IAS Kartikeya Verma.

Sonika Kumar from West Bengal joined Rajasthan following her marriage to IAS Bhaisare Shubham Ashok.

Garima Narula from Telangana got inter-cadre deputation due to her marriage to Rajasthan cadre IAS Rajat Yadav.

Charu from Tripura cadre is married to Rajasthan cadre IPS officer Sujit Shankar and joined the Rajasthan cadre.

Nidhi Patel from Himachal Pradesh has also received inter-cadre deputation, although her reason for joining Rajasthan is not marriage.
