'Visited Pakistan Thrice, Links With Jyoti Malhotra & Pakistan Intelligence Operatives': Here's What Probe Revealed In YouTuber Jasbir Singh Espionage Case

Chandigarh: Punjab Police's State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) on Wednesday busted an espionage network linked to a YouTuber from Rupnagar. The arrested YouTuber, Jasbir Singh, was allegedly connected to Pakistani intelligence operatives and terror-backed elements. He operates a YouTube channel, named 'Jaan Mahal'.

"Acting swiftly on actionable intelligence, State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Mohali has unearthed a critical espionage network linked to Jasbir Singh, a resident of Village Mahlan, Rupnagar. Jasbir Singh, who operates a YouTube channel called "Jaan Mahal," Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said in an X post.

Here's What The Initial Investigation Revealed In Jasbir Singh's Case:

- The Punjab-based YouTuber allegedly has ties with another YouTuber, Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested last month for allegedly spying for Pakistan.

- As per the Punjab DGP, Singh was also in touch with Pakistan intelligence operative (PIO) Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa and Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a Pakistani national and expelled Pak High Commission official.

- "Investigations have revealed that Jasbir attended the #Pakistan National Day event in #Delhi on Danish’s invitation, where he met Pakistani #Army officials and vloggers," Yadab said in the X post.

- Singh visited Pakistan thrice in 2020, 2021 and 2024.

- The Punjab-based YouTuber's electronic devices allegedly contained multiple Pakistan-based numbers. These devices are currently under detailed forensic scrutiny.

- "After Jyoti Malhotra’s arrest, Jasbir attempted to erase all traces of his communications with these PIOs to avoid detection. An FIR has been registered at SSOC, #Mohali.," the Punjab DGP said.

It was the second arrest in Punjab over charges of spying for Pakistan. On Tuesday, into custody for allegedly spying for Pakistan. The arrested man, identified as Gagandeep Singh, allegedly shared sensitive information, including details about the movement of the Indian Army, during India's Operation Sindoor with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
