Video: Schoolboy Injured After Falling Into Open Pit While Cycling In UP’s Aligarh

A schoolboy sustain minor injuries after falling into an open pit near Gonda Turn on Khair Road in UP's Aligarh. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera and the video has gone viral since.
According to reports, an open pit was left uncovered after constructing a culvert on the roadside. The deep pit nearly became the cause of a major accident. A school student riding a bicycle fell into this pit. A 41-second video of this incident has surfaced online. The incident is said to be from the Rorawer police station area.
According to reports, after constructing the culvert over the drain on the roadside of Khair Road, the Municipal Corporation made no arrangements to cover the pit. A school student passing by this open pit was trying to stop his bicycle when he lost balance and fell into the deep drain. Fortunately, people nearby immediately pulled him out, which saved his life. According to eyewitnesses, the student sustained minor injuries, but this accident could have taken a serious turn.
The viral video clearly shows that a deep pit has been left open on the roadside, with no warning boards or barricading around it. Local people have expressed anger over this negligence by the Municipal Corporation and have demanded that it be covered immediately. Municipal Commissioner Prem Prakash Meena said that the drain will be covered. Instructions have been issued to the construction department officials for this purpose.
