A disturbing incident of communal violence has emerged from Haridwar's Manglaur area, where a group of Kanwariyas (pilgrims) allegedly assaulted a Muslim family and vandalised their vehicle following a minor road accident.

The incident occurred when a car carrying a Muslim family, including women and children, accidentally brushed against Kanwariyas who were walking on the road during their pilgrimage. According to reports, what began as a minor traffic incident escalated into a violent assault when the attackers learned that the car was driven by a person from the Muslim community.

Eyewitness accounts and video footage that later surfaced on social media show the Kanwariyas forcing the family members to exit their vehicle. The group then proceeded to break the car's door and chase the male passengers, physically assaulting them while causing significant damage to the vehicle.

After the video of the incident went viral on social media platforms, Haridwar Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused individuals.

In an official statement posted on social media Saturday, Haridwar Police said: "During the Kanwar Yatra in the Manglor area, when a car brushed against Kanwariyas, they attempted to damage the vehicle in anger. A case has been registered at Manglor Police Station under relevant sections for damaging the car and assault, and legal action is being taken."

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation on social media, with many calling for strict action against those responsible for the attack. Police officials have assured that they are taking the matter seriously and conducting a thorough investigation.
