New Delhi: Amritsar IndiGo flight (6E 2045) returned to Delhi due to blackout SOP and suspected drone activity in Amritsar, Punjab on Mayy 12. In now widely shared viral video, netizens shared videos and screenshots show the IndiGo flight doing u-turn just near Bhatinda.
In the video, the flight announcement about the airplane taking a U-turn to Delhi can be clearly heard, and passengers are seen seated calmly while some standing near the seats as they listen to the update.
According to report in PTI, The flight 6E2045 from Delhi to Amritsar returned to the national capital after being airborne for sometime, as per information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.
The report also mentioned the flight had to return as the Amritsar airport was closed due to the precautionary blackout.
Meanwhile, IndiGo cancelled its flights to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar and Rajkot for May 13.
"In light of the latest developments and with your safety as our utmost priority, flights to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot are cancelled for 13th May 2025," IndiGo said in a post on X at 23:38 hours on Monday.
Earlier in the evening , A notice from the Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar informed residents that a siren would signal the start of the blackout. People were told to switch off lights, stay away from windows and remain calm.

"You will hear a siren. We are on alert and initiating the blackout. Please switch off your lights and move away from your windows. Stay calm, we will inform when ready to restore the power supply. Don't panic at all. This is by way of abundant caution.", the notice issued by the Amritsar Deputy Commissioner read.
