Lucknow: A 20-year-old university student became the latest victim of cyber fraud in Lucknow's Pahari area. Nisha Khanam, a resident of Dr. Shakuntala Misra University hostel, lost ₹29,700 to scammers impersonating LIC insurance agents on May 12.
The fraudster initially gained Nisha's trust by accurately stating her and her father's personal details. The perpetrator then displayed fake transaction alerts claiming accidental money transfers to her account, pressuring her to return ₹27,000 and ₹2,700 through two separate transactions.
