In a tragic incident in Kasganj district, a 25-year-old pregnant woman died after falling from the roof of her house. The victim, Brajbala, who was five months pregnant, sustained severe injuries in the fall.
Police reported that Brajbala succumbed to her injuries following an assault by her husband, Ramu, allegedly over excess salt in the food she had prepared. The incident occurred on Wednesday in Nagda Dhak village.
According to the Superintendent of Police in Kasganj, what began as a minor argument over the meal escalated violently when Ramu started beating his wife. After the assault, Brajbala was treated in hospital for four hours before passing away.
The deceased had been married to Ramsaran, alias Ramu, a resident of Nagla Dhak, for seven years. The couple had a three-year-old son. Brajmala's cousin, Rakesh, informed police that Ramu, who owns two bighas of farmland, had a history of assaulting his wife over trivial matters.
Rakesh stated that on Wednesday afternoon, Brajmala had prepared potato curry for her husband. When Ramu complained about insufficient salt in the food and his mother, Meera Devi, expressed disapproval, he became enraged. Ramu threw the food plate, then attacked his wife, kicking and punching her before pushing her off the roof.
