The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) has announced a remarkable achievement in delivering justice to allottees, having recovered a massive ₹1410 crore against 5700 recovery certificates (RCs) to date. This impressive figure has reportedly drawn praise from the Central Government.

According to Sanjay Bhoosreddy, Chairman of UP-RERA, the pace of recovery has significantly accelerated since August 2023. In this period alone, `861 crore was recovered in 3053 cases, accounting for 61% of the total recoveries made so far.

Data released by RERA shows `380 crore recovered in 2023, `463 crore in 2024, and `251 crore collected between January 1 and July 15, 2025, indicating a continuous upward trend. Beyond direct recoveries, UP-RERA has also prioritized amicable settlements.

Through its Conciliation Forum and execution proceedings, approximately `500 crore has been resolved in 1650 RC cases. Additionally, claims worth around `3320 crore have been settled in 8500 other cases, encompassing disputes related to refunds and property possession.

Cumulatively, UP-RERA has provided relief to 15,850 allottee complainants, resolving claims totaling ₹5180 crore through various means, including direct recovery, mutual agreements, execution proceedings, and mediation. Chairman Bhoosreddy attributes this strengthened recovery process to monthly reviews, strict actions against promoters, and making allottee satisfaction a mandatory condition for project registration or extension. He affirmed the authority's commitment to ensuring allottees receive their due amounts in a timely manner and that RERA's orders are fully complied with.
