UP Crime News: Swiggy Delivery Man Arrested For Illegally Supplying Homemade Pistols And Bullets In Muzaffarnagar | Screengrab, File

Lucknow: A 23-year-old man employed by the Swiggy food delivery service in Haryana was apprehended by UP police on Friday in Muzaffarnagar, where he was found with at least 10 illegal homemade pistols and numerous bullets concealed in a delivery bag.

Sudhanshu Kumar, a man from Meerut, has been accused of providing illegal firearms in Delhi, UP, Haryana, and Punjab. He was caught in the Ramraj area after receiving a tip-off.

Muzaffarnagar SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma stated that the suspect was on his way to deliver the firearms when police set up a trap and arrested him. During questioning, he disclosed the participation of six others in an unlawful arms trafficking operation. In response to this data, authorities have established a dedicated unit to locate and apprehend the remaining gang members.

SSP Verma mentioned: "In the course of the search operation, 10 homemade pistols of .315 bore, multiple cartridges, and a motorcycle were seized from his possession." Kumar informed us that he is employed as a delivery person in Karnal for a well-known food delivery service.

However, we discovered that he has a criminal record going back five years. Measures are being implemented against him by the Arms Act, and procedures are in progress to incarcerate him.

The officer added that six associates of the accused have been declared "wanted" in this case, and efforts are underway to track and apprehend them.

Authorities indicated that the group had been distributing firearms across different regions of the nation, notably in Meerut, where there is a "considerable need".
