Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a stern warning to those indulging in violence and vandalism during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra. He announced that posters of miscreants would be displayed publicly, and strict action would follow once the religious pilgrimage concludes.
Speaking during a press briefing after participating in a flower shower ceremony for the Kanwariyas, the Chief Minister expressed strong displeasure over recent incidents aimed at disrupting the Yatra. "CCTV footage is available for every location. Those trying to tarnish the image of this sacred pilgrimage will be exposed and held accountable," he said firmly.
Yogi Adityanath stated that while the Kanwar Yatra is a symbol of devotion, energy, and celebration, there are deliberate attempts—both through social media and other means—to defame the pilgrimage. “People should be alert. Do not allow such elements to infiltrate your groups. If anyone is found attempting to damage the sanctity of the Yatra or break the Kanwar, do not take the law into your own hands. Instead, inform the authorities immediately,” he urged.
The Chief Minister also called upon devotees and citizens to take responsibility for maintaining discipline and cleanliness. “Lord Shiva is the deity of cosmic welfare. While the police and administration have ensured excellent arrangements, it is also our collective responsibility to support them,” he said.

Addressing concerns about cleanliness, Yogi said, “Sanitation workers are doing their job, but we too must remain vigilant. Devotees must avoid spreading litter around intersections and should actively support the Swachh Bharat initiative.”
The Chief Minister’s firm message aims to ensure that the spiritual and peaceful essence of the Kanwar Yatra is preserved, and that any attempt to disrupt its sanctity will not go unpunished.
